Carthusia
Very little is more romantic than a Carthusia fragrance. From the perfume itself to the incredible tale of this Italian perfumery, everything about Carthusia evokes the sentiment of fairy tales and the sensuality of the lush Mediterranean seascapes. With a focus on being old fashioned, luxurious, elegant, and beautiful perfumes, Carthusia fragrances make ultimate personal indulgences or the perfect gift for a woman you love.
There is essentially a fairy tale that the first Caprese perfume was made in 1380 by monks at the Carthusian Monastery. The scent was made from the water that held a bouquet of the most stunning flowers in the country--the Garofilium Silvestre Caprese. In 1948, Carthusia became the name of an elite fragrance created by the smallest perfumery in the world--based on that same formula from 600 years before.
Detailed Attention to Each Bottle of Carthusia
Carthusia is made today the same way it was crafted so long ago, as well. The handcrafting is meticulous, both for the perfume and its presentation. Many of the herbs and flowers are picked by hand on Capri, and every individual bottle is wrapped by hand.
Some Carthusia fragrances are simple but compelling, such as their Mediterraneo Eau de Toilette, which has only two obvious notes--lemon leaves and green tea. Others are complex and nuanced combinations of delicate mimosa blossoms, Mediterranean bay leafs, ripe peaches, sensual irises, and sweet jasmine blooms.
